Ms. Barrios is a partner who concentrates her practice in the fields of products liability litigation, general litigation, mass torts, professional malpractice, and class actions.
She graduated from Newcomb College in 1974 and from Tulane University School of Law in 1976. In her final year of law school, she was awarded the Admiralty Law Institute Prize, the American Jurisprudence Prize for Louisiana Civil Procedure and served as the student editor of The Maritime Lawyer.
From 1976-1979 she clerked for Chief Justice Joe W. Sanders of the Louisiana Supreme Court. After that, she joined Carl W. Cleveland and Associates, where she made partner in 1980. She co-founded Barrios, Kingsdorf & Casteix, LLP in 1995.
Since the mid-1990s, Ms. Barrios has been recognized as a leading attorney in the complex litigation arena. Judges have appointed her to numerous national litigation committees to help guide products liability and mass tort lawsuits. She has recently been named Lead Plaintiffs’ Counsel in class action lawsuits against a testing company and has been appointed by various judges as a member of leadership committees. In addition to serving as a faculty member at various seminars across the country, she has lectured at Tulane School of Law in the area of complex litigation and mass torts.
Ms. Barrios is a member of the Louisiana Bar Association, the Louisiana Trial Lawyers Association, and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. She has received the highest rating for attorneys, AV, indicating excellence in legal work and ethical principles. Ms. Barrios also serves on the board of the United Way and A Studio In the Woods.
