Today, Monday, April 16, 2012, Judge Barbier entered an order extending the deadline for filing the BP settlement to Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at 8:30 AM CDT.  A copy of the order can be found HERE.  The parties requested the 48 hour extension to finalize the deal so that all of the attachments and exhibits could be prepared and double-checked.  The original deadline was today.

Today, March 12, 2012, the Honorable Judge Rebecca F. Doherty appointed founding partner Dawn M. Barrios as one of seven members of the Executive Committee in MDL 2299, In re: Actos (Pioglitazone) Products Liability Litigation. The seven members of the Executive Committee will be tasked with organizing and running the litigation arising out of the use of the diabetes drug Actos.  The firm congratulates Ms. Barrios on this important appointment, which recognizes both her skill and reputation in representing plaintiffs in large, complex litigation.
